Sweet and Spicy Roasted Brussels Sprouts

 

30g chopped hazlenuts

450g Brussels sprouts

1 ½  teaspoons of maple syrup

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon of paprika

 

Preheat oven to 220c.

Combine all ingredients and place in a roasting tray . Roast for approx 15-17mins , stirring once through cooking.

Brussels with Blue Cheese and                    Walnuts

 

   Steam Brussels until al dente, and then          place in a grill pan. Sprinkle over you favourite blue cheese and then grill until melted. Add chopped walnuts and season.

Brussels sprouts are a hardy vegetable traditionally harvested from October-March. Related to cabbages and kales they are a very nutritous source of many minerals and vitamins, in particular Vitamin C and Vitamin K  which is important for strong bones.
